Pro Feature

Monitoring & Alerts

Your AI readiness can change without warning — a robots.txt update, a schema removal, a sitemap break. Automated monitoring catches regressions before they cost you visibility.

What It Does

A single scan shows where you stand right now. Monitoring shows you the trajectory. Websites change constantly — deployments, CMS updates, plugin changes, and infrastructure shifts can all impact your AI readiness without anyone noticing.

GEO Lantern's monitoring feature automatically rescans your sites on a schedule and compares each result against the previous scan. When something changes — for better or worse — you get an alert so you can act quickly.

This is especially critical because AI crawler access changes (like blocking GPTBot in robots.txt) can happen during routine deployments and go unnoticed for weeks. Monitoring ensures you catch these issues immediately.

Capabilities

What Monitoring Includes

Scheduled Rescanning

Set your monitored sites to rescan daily or weekly. Every rescan produces a fresh AI readiness score so you can track progress over time.

Score Change Alerts

Receive email notifications when your AI readiness score changes significantly — whether it improves or drops. Catch regressions before they impact your visibility.

Historical Tracking

View your score history over time with trend data. See whether your optimisation efforts are paying off and identify patterns in score fluctuations.

Per-Category Tracking

Track changes across all six categories individually. If your Schema Markup score drops while Content Structure improves, you'll know exactly what changed.

Multiple Site Monitoring

Monitor up to 5 sites on Pro, 25 on Business, and 50 on Agency. Manage all your properties from a single dashboard.

Regression Detection

When a rescan detects a score drop, we highlight the specific changes that caused it — new robots.txt rules, removed schema markup, broken sitemaps, and more.

4

Alerts delivered

If a significant change is detected, you receive an email alert with a summary of what changed and why.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does automated monitoring work?

When you add a URL to your monitored sites, GEO Lantern rescans it automatically on your chosen schedule (daily or weekly). Each rescan produces a complete AI readiness analysis, and the results are compared against previous scans to detect changes. If a significant change is detected, you receive an email alert.

What triggers an alert?

Alerts are triggered when your overall AI readiness score changes by more than a configurable threshold. By default, you are alerted on any score change of 5 or more points in either direction. You can also enable per-category alerts to be notified when specific areas change.

How many sites can I monitor?

Pro plans include 5 monitored sites with weekly rescanning. Business plans include 25 monitored sites with daily rescanning. Agency plans include 50 monitored sites with daily rescanning. Free plans do not include automated monitoring.

Does monitoring use my monthly scan quota?

Monitored rescans are separate from your manual scan quota. Your monitored sites are rescanned automatically without consuming your manual scans, so you can run additional scans on top of your monitoring schedule.

Can I see historical score data?

Yes. Every rescan is stored and accessible from your dashboard. You can view score trends over time, compare any two points in your history, and see exactly which category changes drove overall score movements.
